In all likelihood, 2021 will be the year you'll be able to play the reimagined Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo 7, setting up a classic face-off between the two juggernauts of racing simulation on consoles. It had been about eight months between that update on the game's status and the first trailer dropping. Esaki said that "the overall product and where we're going with it is such a vastly different and amazing experience," teasing a shift in focus and game design from the previous seven titles. Back in December, Turn 10 Creative Director Chris Esaki announced on the Forza Monthly live show that the next Forza Motorsport had recently undergone its first studio-wide play test, marking a significant milestone in the game's development.

The lack of a date, let alone a mention of 2020, anywhere in the video hints that the next Forza Motorsport won't be ready for the Xbox Series X's launch, nor the upcoming holiday season.īeyond that, it's really anyone's guess.
